Savannah and Shane’s Lincoln Estates wedding was photographed on digital, 35mm film and Super 8.
When we asked what they wanted to remember most about their wedding years from now, it was having everyone they love together in one place and getting to actually celebrate with them.
That became a big part of how we approached their photography. We kept portraits intentional without taking them away from their guests for long stretches of the day. Later in the evening, we slipped outside between speeches for a few sunset portraits and headed right back into the reception.

A Lincoln Estates Wedding on Digital, 35mm Film + Super 8
Savannah and Shane chose a mix of digital photography, 35mm film and Super 8 to document their wedding.
We use film alongside digital throughout the day rather than treating it as a separate part of the coverage. Digital gives us flexibility for everything moving quickly, while film brings in the grain, colour and slight unpredictability we love.
Super 8 adds movement to that mix.
Little clips of guests talking around the tables, everyone cheering during the ceremony exit, having a quiet moment together, or sneaking away to watch the sunset can feel more like an old home movie than a traditional wedding video.
For a wedding where Savannah and Shane cared so much about remembering the people around them, that combination made a lot of sense.
Getting Ready at Lincoln Estates
One thing we really liked about photographing at Lincoln Estates was being able to start the day right on the property.
There are spacious getting-ready suites for both partners, which makes it easy to photograph both sides of the morning without adding extra travel.
The bridal suite is on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the venue and outdoor ceremony space. It gave us a nice mix of getting-ready moments, details and quieter portraits before everything started.
Having both partners getting ready on-site also meant the day could move naturally from final touches into the ceremony without feeling rushed.
Lincoln Estates Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
Savannah and Shane held their ceremony outside, surrounded by the greenery of the property.
We photographed the wider ceremony space, the processional, reactions from family and friends, and all the smaller moments happening between the bigger ones.
One of our favourite parts was their ceremony exit, with everyone cheering around them as they walked back down the aisle together. It was exactly the kind of moment that worked beautifully across still photography and Super 8.
After the ceremony, everything we needed for portraits was already nearby, so there was no reason to leave the property.
Wedding Photos Around Lincoln Estates
Lincoln Estates has enough variety that we could create very different portraits without turning it into a long photo session.
We photographed around the vineyard, by the pond, on the bridge, and in front of the castle-style main building.
The building gave us something more architectural and editorial, while the vineyard and pond felt softer and more relaxed.
We don't usually feel the need to photograph every possible corner of a venue. We'd rather choose the places that have the best light at that moment and give the couple time to settle into the portraits.
For Savannah and Shane, that also meant keeping the day focused on being with their guests instead of moving from one photo location to another.
Sunset Portraits Without Leaving the Reception for an Hour
Savannah and Shane didn’t want their reception interrupted by a long portrait session, so we kept things flexible and worked portraits into the natural rhythm of the evening.
When the light started to soften, we slipped outside between speeches for a few portraits around the property. They had a quiet moment together, watched the sunset for a bit, and then went straight back in to celebrate with everyone.
It gave them another set of portraits without making sunset photos feel like a separate part of the day.

Savannah + Shane’s Super 8 Wedding Film
Alongside their wedding photography, we documented Savannah and Shane’s day on Super 8.
Super 8 preserves something slightly different from still photography.
You can see everyone moving around them during the ceremony exit, a quick reaction from across the table, the two of them walking through the property, or a few quiet seconds together while watching the sunset.
We approach Super 8 more like a moving home movie than a highly produced wedding video.
It isn't about recreating moments for the camera. We photograph what is already happening and let the texture, movement and imperfections of the film become part of the memory.
The Tented Reception at Lincoln Estates
Savannah and Shane’s reception took place under the tent, keeping the evening connected to the outdoor setting of the venue.
Their sweetheart table sat in front of the pond, bridge and vineyard, and around golden hour, the whole view behind them turned warm and golden. It was such a beautiful backdrop for dinner and speeches, and later made it easy to sneak away for a few sunset portraits without going far from the reception.
We photographed conversations across the tables, reactions during speeches, friends laughing together and all the little interactions happening in between.
Those moments were especially important for Savannah and Shane because having everyone they loved together was such a big part of what they wanted to remember from their wedding.
